UNASO HOLDS 16TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

On the 31st, January 2020, UNASO held her 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala.

The meeting was graced by representatives from partner organizations, friends of UNASO, former and current Board Members, founder members, development partners and government dignitaries, among others.

The Guest of honor was Dr. Nelson Musoba, the Director General of Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC), represented by Ms. Enid Wamani, the Director Partnerships at UAC.

The Board chairperson welcomed all UNASO members, Development Partners and Representatives from the District Civil Society Organizations networks and extended gratitude to all UNASO partners specifically Uganda Aids Commission (UAC) and UNAIDs for the support during the turbulent times since 2017.

Achievements made since the Board took office include: Resolving 90% of the audit requirements related to funding from Irish Aid, Resolving most of the non-compliant issues and penalties related to Uganda Revenue Authority, Hired an Executive Director with support from UNAIDs and UAC Human Resources team, Conducted a corporate governance orientation for the Board, led on the development of the UNASO strategic plan including representing civil society on the East African Network of Aids Services Organizations (EANNASO)

The board members committed to continue strengthening UNASO become a Civil Society (CS) leader in Advocacy, Coordination, Capacity enhancement and building CS resilience. The chairperson encouraged members to pay up membership as a sign of dedication to UNASO’s growth and to engage robust resource mobilization and partnerships to ensure the set goals are realized
