23 Mar Call for Abstracts – 2023 GPP Implementation Symposium
Overview
The 3rd Good Participatory Practice (GPP) Implementation Symposium 2023 will be hosted in person during the 11thSAAIDS Conference 2023 on the 20th – 23rd of June 2023. Full or partial scholarships will be provided to 2 or 3 presenting authors.
Symposium Objectives
- To explore how GPP activities have improved research in the last five years (case studies)
- To identify gaps in the GPP guidelines and its implementation in clinical trials
- To identify successes, gaps, opportunities, and emerging models for GPP implementation at local,national, and regional levels
Symposium Focus Areas
Theme 1: Creative strategies for community and stakeholder engagement in unstable conditions – war, pandemics, climate emergencies.
Theme 2: Lessons about public engagement in science in a “post-truth” world
Theme 3: Engagement of audiences beyond community stakeholders: ethicists, regulators, politicians, pharmaceutical companies, trial networks.
Criteria for abstract selection
- Abstracts aligned with the above three themes are submitted in the form below.
- Submissions that reflect changes/practices over multiple years are encouraged.
- If successful, the organizers will request an A1 Poster and a 5-slide PPT (10 minutes).

Notification of successful abstracts: 21st April 2023
3rd GPP Implementation Symposium: 22/23 June 2023
