CCM support to Civil Society Engagements
The Uganda Country Coordinating Mechanism (UCCM) is the in-country Board that governs the Global Fund grants. It was established in accordance with the mandate laid out by the Board of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM). The structure and the concept of the Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs) for the Global Fund is intended to reflect the principles of national ownership and participatory decision-making. The Uganda CCM Board’s main mandate is to coordinate, develop and submit funding requests/applications to the Global Fund for HIV, TB and Malaria programmes based on National Priority needs; Select Principal Recipients, provide oversight of the grant implementation; regularly review the progress, identify implementation challenges including risk assessments; and recommend appropriate actions to address these grant implementation challenges.
